Need For Slip Resistance Test

>> Friday, 28 September 2012

People often have a fascination of having floors made of granite or tiles but they do not understand that they are prone to accidents because they can easily slip on them. This is the main reason why it is so important to perform a slip resistance test so that the slipperiness can be checked before the floor is completed. It is not necessary to keep the floor dry in order to perform the test. After performing the test if you start using the floor then there will be no harm at all.

Alternatives to Make the Floor Slip Resistant

There are many providers who offer to install items on the floor that would not make anyone slip. People often actually want slippery floors, not because they want others to slip and fall down but to make the room look good. Following are some of the things which can be installed so that the floors do not remain slippery:

•    Broadloom carpets

•    Carpet tiles

•    Ceramic or porcelain

•    Wood

•    Linoleum

•    Sheet vinyl

•    Flash coving

Since safety would be the first call when it comes to flooring, it is best if you use anti slip tape for the floor treatment. This can be used anywhere from your bedroom to the garage because they are portable. They are also available in various types depending on the floor you have. If you want to determine the slipperiness of a surface then you can also check it in the laboratory but that would take a comparatively long time and when you have the benefit of a tape to measure it then why take the trouble of checking it in a lab.
